sundial 21655 viewsI have a plant in my garden I call an inside-out outdaisy. This sort of gave me the idea for this one.

In the Groove1647 viewsA neighbour of mine saw one of my other wacky pieces and said 'I bet you can't carve balls suspended within the stone.' I took that as a challenge and here it is! - balls caught in the groove... A really fun, funky piece which always makes me smile.
Stands 1400mm tall

Pillar of Salt 11641 viewsIn the Bible Lot's wife looked back and she was instantly turned into a pillar of salt.
Looking at the world today - at the way we have squandered the world's resources, cutting down forests and polluting rivers and waterways, perhaps it is a good thing to look back and see how the world once was. We need to look back and figure out how to fix it rather than boldly moving on ignoring the signs

Escape (side view)1636 viewsMy daughter actually suggested a lady escaping from a piece of stone... so here she is...
My lady is pushing her way out of the stone and into the light, and evolving as she does.
Her body is ultra-smooth and lovely to touch, her hair which is being torn free from the stone is rough, and the rest of the stone from is unsealed so it is grey and aged.

Around the bend1623 viewsI think I must have been a bit 'around the bend' when I was making this. I was just doodling, and this is what came out. It sits at home on a bend and is about 470mm tall.

Through the looking glass (stage 1)1620 viewsWho knows what inspired me here? I usually shy away from geometric shapes, but this time I have straight (well almost straight) lines!
This is only stage 1 of this statue, it has another piece to go on top, but I haven't persuaded my husband to put it there yet. So watch the space next to this picture.
Currently 3 pieces of stone pinned together, total height 1120mm

Eye of the Needle1580 viewsI decided this was an important part of Queen 2 pawn 7 when I finished it. The other 2 pieces speak of the industrialization, pollution, and global warming and its effects. This piece shows the greed of man who stands and watches the destruction of the earth while doing nothing except make money. I also had the verse "Its easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven".
1250mm tall
