exposed to the elements - side view1576 viewsShe turns her face up to the sun, wind and rain... trully exposed to the elements.
Statue sits about 1 metre tall (plus base). Another statue people love to touch (very smooth)

Stairway to heaven1578 viewsI see the little grooves in this one as steps... but other people have told me that it reminds them of teeth??? (Can't see it myself)
Anyway, small statue - 360mm tall

fern_lace.JPG
Fern Lace1219 viewsI keep returning again and again to ferns - perhaps because I love them. This is a smaller version of a fern (65cm) done in a lacey style.

Squiggle1219 viewsI had fun with this one... started making a koru, then decided to put a few kinks in it.
It sort of springs up out of the ground. Haven't really thought of a name for it so its known affectionately as "Squiggle". I have done a series of squiggles in different sizes and kinks.
This one stands about a metre tall (plus base for stability)

spikey sea-shell1589 viewsI actually dug a spikey shell out of our garden and have no idea how it got here so far from the sea. This is what gave me the idea for this statue which is slightly modified to allow for strength. I really like the contrast between the soft curves and the viscious looking spikes.
750mm tall

Toitoi1640 viewsInspired by a trip to Hastings when I saw toitoi blowing in the wind.
More dramatic shadows when in full sun - but it doesn't photograph well with extremes in light and shadows
90cm tall including base. Two pieces pinned.
Mamuku.jpg
Mamaku1789 views1 metre tall, my first holely statue using a combination of the leaf of the mamaku tree fern and the unfurling fronds.
